SUDBURY, ONTARIO: Verv Technologies (Verv) today announced it has completed the alpha prototype of its Vi Home Health monitor.
This is a major milestone and achievement as Verv moves closer to becoming the first company to offer in-home blood testing with accurate quantitative results being provided in less than 15 minutes.
“With this alpha prototype, we are just steps away from having the Vi Home Health Monitor completed and commercially ready,” says Jeff Sutton, Verv’s Founder and President. “Verv’s Vi monitor will bring comprehensive biomarker analysis into the home. Our test cartridge will have the capacity to include up to 12 assays on one cartridge, allowing for a variety of testing options without the user needing to leave home. It’s the future of bloodwork in health care.”
The development of an alpha prototype is a requirement for the regulatory approval of medical devices.
Verv’s alpha prototype includes the Vi analyzer, Vi test cartridges and a mobile app for users wanting results posted directly to their smart phone or other device. This fully functioning device will be used to demonstrate how the Vi Home Health Monitor will function in a consumer’s home – right from a finger-prick drop of blood to quantified test results.
Sample to answer is less than 15 minutes.
The Verv Vi Home Health monitor is designed to be simple and user-friendly. The disposable test cartridge, which is easily inserted in the Vi analyzer, will perform a lipid panel that includes Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL and Triglycerides.

Verv has several other test assays in development including lipid panels, glucose, liver, kidney panels, and will continue to expand to hormones and vitamin panels to meet the growing demand for in-home testing.
